Students intending to pursue graphic design (as well as Character Animation or Experimental Animation) will be enrolled in the Emerging Media Pending BFA program until they have successfully completed the portfolio review. Students are encouraged to simultaneously apply for Studio Art portfolio. The program is competitive and acceptance is based on the quality of the work and completion of the prerequisite courses needed to enter this specialization.В Students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 in all program coursework. Students who are admitted into the Graphic Design program must first apply and be accepted to UCF.ДЄdmission to the Graphic Design track requires completing the required foundation courses in Art and Digital Media.

Throughout the program, students work on developing their professional portfolio which culminates in the two senior year advanced Graphic Design courses.Д¬haracter Animation and Experimental Animation are other tracks in the Emerging Media BFA program. Students combine technology with aesthetics in the production of typographic and publication design, identity systems, packaging, film and broadcast graphics, posters, interactive and web design.

The Graphic Design track is a two-year cohort program where students are educated in the art and science of visual communication, stressing the professional aspects of design. The program also offers extended experience in working in multidisciplinary teams on realistic problems. It is designed to provide a solid foundation in techniques and theory in one focused area of competence, as well as a broad understanding of related disciplines including arts, humanities, and technology. The Emerging Media BFA вЂ“ Graphic Design program at UCF allows students to integrate the multiple domains of art, storytelling, and technology.
